    Default Windows Update error

I've been having issues for a couple of months with using windows update. I keep getting error 80070002. This occurs when It is searching for updates. I've tried a few things I've found on the internet about deleting files in the software distibution folder etc but still no joy. Does anyone on here happen to have any idea about sorting it? I'm not a computer genius by any means but I can usually find my way through it with a little help

you need to remove the temporary update files that Windows uses to identify updates for your computer. To remove the temporary files, stop the Windows Update service, delete the temporary update files, restart the Windows Update service, and then try to check for Windows updates again.

    did you restart it?

bummer... i would go to MS and download the last service pack and reload it.. I know this happens and is a pain in the arse but MS don't acknowledge there is an issue as I am sure you are aware..
