I have bought a OP-com unit that is an interface to my laptop - about £25.00 and as yet I have had no reason to use it.

I'm a little reluctant to just plug it in to have a dabble, despite members advising that it won't do any harm so long as I don't change any values.

I have one of these... search around on ebay, mine was about £55.0 new inc delivery.
They are ok for dtc codes although they won't do airbag abs or body codes

Bought a new Autotel MaxiScan for about £26 including delivery off eBay a few weeks ago. Good news is that it is apparently identical to the Sealey model which costs £155.94 (incl VAT) - a bit of badge engineering?

Look for OBD2/EOBD capability. Reads codes, and clears them, with other background stored information available. I have a Signum 3.0 V6 (z) 2007 but a mate used it on his lad's 2001 Skodia Fabia yesterday and it worked perfectly identifying a misfire in No. 4 cylinder i.e. a duff plug. Check small print for just what years it covers.

Reads codes of engine and gearbox. There does not seem to be a capability of removing service interval reminder.
