    Default airbag light

ive fitted vxr recaros in my car ive wired all the airbags up properly but the recaros have side bags but my car doesnt have a plug for it.

so the clocks airbag light was on so i took it to a garage who could fix it and told me it would fail the mot. They then took the clocks apart and removed the led for the light and now it sais airbags across the milage.

i didnt ask them to do it so now they are saying they will buy me some new clocks

would this solve the problem of it saying airbag across the milage?

    thanks

Sounds like a quality garage, one to never visit again I think!!! New clocks may fix the fault they have created but you will still be left with the light on.

I can't believe they did what they did
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

All I did on my old Astra before it was traded in was place a piece of black electrical tape over the airbag LED (behind the clocks), and it wasn't noticeable at all. Passed an MOT

i know thats an old trick but mine actualy sais AirBAG instead of saying the milage would this be because there is no led in the airbag light

would it be a safety thing incase you try to bypass it??

    Sounds like it.

Get the clocks replaced first (at this garage's expense), then look in to getting the airbag warning system sorted. Wonder if Vauxhall can work their magic with Tech2?? Worth a shot

Airbag warning light being on won't fail a current MOT.

    Next year however it will.
