    Default Urgent Vectra Spanner help

Hi guys, i need some really major help now as my cars getting stupid to drive.

    Vectra 2.0 DTI 2003 100k miles

I cleaned the inlet and egr etc over the summer and since had problems with a limp mode/spanner light coming on.

It only comes on when the car is under load trying to accelerate for a decent length of time, there is one road i use in Wales to Aberystwyth where it is a long uphill dual carriageway where it always comes on trying to maintain 60mph in 5th gear.

All turbos hoses appear okay, and one has recently been replaced for a silicon - Can anyone advice?

Its getting to the point where i want rid of it now.

    Thom

Reading the codes and posting full information is a good idea, that will help.

But it could either be the catalytic Converter in the exhaust is full of soot or the turbo packing up.
The cat can be bashed out, (possible MOT problems next year, hope not) and the turbo is £200 to £300 to put right. Not good.

If it helps, just before the spanner comes on the car feels like its lacking power, and sometimes begins to decelerate ever so slightly. It may also be in my mind but it feels like the revs 'wobble' a tiny amount just before limp mode kicks in.

Im a novice to fault codes, will these show up my problem?

How likely is it that that is the problem because i had cleaned it when i had the inlet apart?

    Could i have damaged it?

I cleaned it with Carb cleaner and nothing else.

Ive cleaned it again an hour ago and checked all the hoses and connections once more.

It wasnt particularly dirty and free moving.
