This is the RDS reception symbol for the clock and calendar, to confirm it is receiving from the local radio transmitter

Does your car have the symbol next to the "hands of the clock", and do you still have the VX radio" installed (not aftermarket)

Check the stored time and date
If the signal is lost then it may return to the stored time
Equally, the RDS signal may be incorrect

I had to report Radio Clyde as they provide the RDS signal in the central Scotland area
From 01 January 2000 the date and time was wrong and it took them three months to correct the error
I had to set the radio to NOT receive the RDS signal and set the date and time manually

You may want to try this and compare

RDS will be on if your radio display shows the station name and not the frequency. For example "Radio 1" not "98.1 FM". Also some local radio signals aren't strong enough as you travel around the district to allow the clock time to align itself with the RDS therefore occasionally the clock symbol wont show. AS A GENERAL RULE OF THUMB - the best channels for RDS time signals are the BBC channels so periodically tune to Radio 1 for 10 mins or so and pick up the accurate clock time from that.

Wasn't aware you could do that, as each region only has one station that provides the CT signal for RDS
In the west of Scotland this is Radio Clyde (I had a map for the rest of the UK, but cannot find it at the moment)
So even if you are listening to any other radio station, CD, or even if the unit is off, the clock still receives the signal only from the radio station transmitting the CT signal
