    Default Front brakes seizing

    Hi driving my 2.0dti 52 plate veccy today and i noticed she wasnt pulling like normal.i put my foot down and the brakes locked on and smoke was pluming from the front brakes.they were red hot and stunk of burning pads.it has cooled down now but drivibg it slow they are still resisting to free when i take up drive?!can anyone help me as i dont have a clue whats happened!?thanks

    Its done 95,000 miles nowt for age.yes its both brakes seized on and stinks of burning brake pads and discs look blueisH.any ideas then mate?

    Equally, has there been any noted brake performance issues, or was this sudden?

    By putting your foot down, I assume you mean a normal service brake application, and not the gas

    Yes it was on the gas!it had rear brake pads done about a month ago but its never had any brake issues ever?

    As above is this first sign of brake problems. When was fluid last changed?
    When where pads last changed?
    Is the car used daily or has it been sat for a while?

    Definatly got friction material left?

    As weird for both to seize at same time.

    My thinking is pads worn down. Metal to metal contact is starting to weld pads to disc? :-/

    Or abs pump playing. Although am sure their plumbed opposite corners is front right and rear left.

    Think really unless you can do it. Get a garage to strip an clean the brakes.
    Maybe just by coincidence the both front pistons are stuck.

    Pads are about a year old same as fluid as vauxhall changed it same time as pads .i drove the car a small distance and there is resistance sumwhere.its baffled me true this has.There is no metal on metal contact anywhere.

    Can you jack it up and check that both fronts are seized?

    Defiantly a weird one mate.
