Default Oil Change - 1.8 VVT

Is there anything I should watch out for when changing the oil on a 2008 1.8 SRi?

Is the drain plug a normal socket?

    Thanks.

make sure you have plenty of old news papers on the floor, just did mine and what a mess i left on the drive as the oil tracked everywhere when i replaced the filter....

make sure you give the hole where the torx bit goes ( I Thought mine was a T45) A realy good clean out, give it a squirt of WD or somthing similar, the torx bit goes in quite a long way if the hole is clean clean, the sump plug torx hole is very easy to damage if the bit is not fitted correctly, a front fitting spin off for for the oil filter is handy as there is not a lot of room to get a side fitting one on.

I have to do this job soon - looks like the filter is the paper type which fits inside a canister. Is this right ? I thought these went out years ago !
