Default GSI Front pipe / Cat

My dad gave us a bell this morning to see if i would do him a favour and take his car to the local tyre & exhaust place to get some parts fitted, as he was busy, no probs i said, so went and got his car & the dosh to pay the bill !

He gives me the keys and a HUGE wad of notes !

I'm like 'er what you getting done ?'

New front pipe & cat supplied and fitted......... £573.40 !!

Has any other GSI owners had these parts replaced ? I'm just trying to find out if he's been ripped off or not, seems pretty steep to me ! (His car is a 52 plate, now done about 53k miles)

    Cheers

Seems a bit steep, I’m sure I have seen aftermarket replacement cats much cheaper (I think it may have been a sports replacement version).

no, just sounds like a rip-off.. they don't pattern the 3.2 downpipe and cat yet, so it must be a VX part.. i can't remember all the details tonight (red wine) but it's no way that dear..

the front pipe is £180 (part only) from VX

thats a recent quote from when i was putting a gsi system, from silencer back onto an sri - so i enquired about that front pipe as an option.
