    Default squeaky new wipers

Just fitted the GM flatblade wipers. they clear the screen really well, but squeak quite a lot. My old style ones (which were quite worn) didn't make a noise.

Any one recommend any product that would help reduce the noise?

I went to buy some of the flat blade wipers based on the recommendations on here.

My mate who works in the local VX dealer parts dept told me not to bother as they have had a lot of requests and subsequent complaints about them from owners of the Astra H.

Ended up buying a pair of standard wipers for less than a tenner instead.

hmmm, very interesting ... I've been 50/50 on getting some of these for a while ... think I will hang fire and watch how it does. I remember when they brought out the new Corsa (well by new I mean Corsa-B [I think - one after the one after the Nova ]) and the rubber compound in the wipers was too hard causing them to squeek ... had them replaced under warranty for a modified part no ... wonder if that will happen to these?

I was the first person at that dealership to request them for the Vectra C, its possible that they are OK for our model and just a bad batch for the Astra.

I really wanted some as well.

If some of the guys who already have them can apply the AG Glass Polish that might just do the trick..........it always works on standard blades, I always wipe my blades as a matter of course when I'm using AG glass polish

We also have a Clio and that has these type of blades, no problems there but they have also been wiped with the glass polish.

Just so you know they only need a small amout applied, I usually do them last after applying to the glass using just what is already on the applicator pad.........unless I'm using a PC then it's just a smidgen on a pad and wipe over
