    Default 1.9 16v precat

I've recently fitted a vxr kit onto my car. it still has the center silencer and cat and precat. i was wondering if I would get the owl whoosh noise if i remove the center silncer and fit this precat:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VECTRA-C-P...item4cf52eabde

MOT tester told me to leave cat on or immidiate fail.

anyone else fitted this precat to there 1.9 16v?

The pre cat is the restrictive one so get rid but is part of the down pipe so you'll need to get downpipe from ebay. Scorpion do one for £150 posted off of ebay. As for the other cat keep it on.

Don't attempt it get the pipe and get someone to fit. The internals of the pre cat are a nightmare I gave up on mine and barely scratched the internals.

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

I've fitted one, and as far as the new regulations next year go, it should fail an mot, however its covered by the undertray, so they may not see it

Noticted the car runs smoother and its allowed to rev harder for longer.

I can hear my turbo slightly more with this precat fitted and teh car de-catted, but it doesnt sound like a ghost thankfully.

Having looked at the latest MOT test manual a decat on a diesel should not be a failure

    These exact words are used:

    3.
On vehicles that qualify for a full cat emissions test, check the presence of the catalytic converter.

Diesels aren't subject to a full cat emmisions test
