The problem is when HIDS are fitted in reflector headlamps and that's what's caused the issue. Everyone and their mother has fitted them in everything and they're not designed for use in reflectors, the beam pattern is totally wrong and dazzling as a result.

The Vectras have projector lenses fitted as standard which are the correct fitments for HIDS/Xenons. Unfortunately the others are ruining it for people who take care to fit them correctly in the right fittings.

The one that annoys me is these stupid "corner assist" lights where it turns on one fog light at a certain speed when you turn. How can driving with your fog lights on be illegal and that not be?

Although I got to say, properly adjusted fog lights shouldn't dazzle anyone as they are designed to aim low and close, under the fog.

ANY incorrectly adjusted headlights would fail an MOT and therefore the car is not road legal... ANY mal-adjusted headlights will dazzle other road users... HID's don't even come into this boring argument that gets brought up every second day... (my advice - wear your sunglasses)

I would rather spot trains than see another thread about how dangerous HID's apparently are... And for those of you that enjoy spotting trains... I was using it in a negative context

    +1

As an owner of a car with correctly adjusted and fully road legal HIDs it still amazes (and anoys) me the number of people who switch on their full beam as I approach over a rise in the road or round a left-hand bend in a deliberate attempt to burn my retinas out as some form of retaliation for my HIDs lighting them up like a christmas tree. These people need a physics lesson.
