    Default 1.9 CDTi [150] - Thermostat Question

Can anyone tell me if the thermostat is different on the 150 & 120 1.9 CDTi model vectra's? (talking temp thermostat)
Getting mine changed today and want to make sure they get the right one - mine is the 150...
    Thanks
    Michael

Looking at listings for these they do suggest that they are the same for both engine types.
I got mine from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-T...item2c61652eca and fitted to my Signum 150 last winter. Still working as it should.

The latest thermostat VX Pt.No.55203388, don't use an OEM version. The one under the quoted Pt No is about £45.00 from the dealer. I had what turned out to be an OEM stat fitted in June this year by a national garage and it failed in late November, they have fitted the genuine one as I asked and it is working fine. Incidental, it was cheaper for them to buy in that the OEM one had been.

Had new thermostat fitted yesterday by a local garage (not vx) - should I be able to see any new part by just looking under the bonnet or is the thermostat well hidden away - I had a quick look but couldn't see anything that resembled a new part!
Unfortunately the drive back to work was only a mile or two so the engine didn't get warm & needle didn't have chance to move.

Engine cover removed, the stat is down the right side sort of under the oil filler area in this pic. That big black pipe (air charge pipe) needs to be removed to get to replace the stat. There's a black hose coming from the front of the stat which runs alongside that air charge pipe to the front and the stat's got an electrical connector to it, on top
The temp gauge, this weather will not start to move until you've travelled around 3+ miles then should sit at around 85.

What a nice clean engine - are the four yellow topped things going into the front of the engine the things that could be blue and should be upgraded to the colour ???????

Apparently, so I've been told before, they should be changed because you will have running problems.
No problems thus far, and I believe in the old saying "if it ain't broke why fix it" or something like that.
