    Default V6 CDTi tyre pressures?

    I'm confused . Running 215/50-17 XL Kumho KU39's.

The owner's book in the car says 39psi front and rear (which I'm running at the moment), some websites say 32 psi all round and m8Internet suggests 38psi up front and 35psi in the rears.

So what do you guys reckon?

Also, on the odd occasion I tow 1.5 tons on the rear, what would you do with the pressures then?

i ave 38 all round on my vec when im on my own.

however the other week i had 5 off us, and boot full of bags, so bumped the rear pressures upto 44 and the fron to 40.

This is an error and assumes standard tyres fitted
The dealership I use kept lowering the tyre pressures, until I told then to stop doing so and showed them the handbook
It turned out they were using the tyre pressures for the 1.9CDTI as the 3.0 V6 CDTI was not listed

With 32 on the front then you will most likely suffer excess wear on both outside edges of the tyres (under inflation)
With 38 you will suffer some slight excess wear in the centre of the tyre, but it is minimal in comparison

I have been running 225/45R17 for a long time now and can tell when the tyres have been underinflated, below 35, on the front

The handbook I have is for 2004 and applies to the Y30DT 3.0 V6 CDTI
Take a look at the rear cover for the handbook version

    Even more confused now ........

Just looked at a VX owners manual download for the Z30Dt from the Vauxhall site and yes, they give 38F, 35R.

    So why the difference between the Y30Dt @ 39psi F & R and the Z30DT?

Sorry, just looked at the manual that's in the car and it's April 2003. Looks like somewhere between April 2003 and ?? 2004, VX revised the tyre pressures.

It won't make much difference between 38 and 39

    215 50 R17 should be 38 at the front
    225 45 R17 should be 39 at the front

VX probably simplified this from Z30DT and made them both 39

39 on the rear is just a little too high, which will result in some excessive wear in the centre

When towing refer to the laden load pressures, never had to use these myself, but I would expect these to be around 44

But 4psi on the rears (39/35) is quiet a difference?

Yes, submit a request to VX for the correct tyre pressures for your car
You may find that is correct for a Signum rather than a Vectra C (I assume the handbooks are different as mine doesn't have any Signum features in it)

    Tyre Pressures Vectra-C - Model Year 2006 to 2008
Note: If checking the tyre pressures manually with a tyre pressure tester ensure that the test connection is placed straight on the metal stems and without applying a great deal of pressure to avoid damage.

In vehicles with a tyre pressure monitoring system, each time a manual pressure check is undertaken, first of all the valve adapter must be screwed on to the valve to prevent damage to the aluminium body.

Use a valve cap wrench to release the valve cap more easily. It is located on the inside of the fuel tank flap. Vehicles with a tyre pressure monitoring system have an adapter in the valve cap wrench.
