    Default My stripping thread

DO NOT ASK ABOUT GETTING MY LEATHER ITS GOING IN THE LOFT INCASE I WANT TO PUT IT BACK IN. ANYONE WHO DOES POST ABOUT IT WILL GET KICKED SQUAW IN THE NUTS!!!! Apparently even calling dibs warrants a thread closer so don't even mention it please i want this thread to stay open!! Thanks

Right back to business. I enquired about this in general vec c chat, but now this is my actual 'doing it' thread. I'm going ahead this evening 5pm onwards getting everything out possible behind the drivers seat. However with limited knowledge and tools, we shall see how far i get!!!

Its in styling although i'm doing it initially for performance reasons, but its not tuning, handling or braking. And it sort of is styling as its altering the look of the interior of the car! And in future i will be looking to do a custom rebuild of the interior prob with ice etc. so i'm in the right section imo.

Anyone out there with more knowledge on any tricky bits, a heads up would be much appreciated. As usual i will be taking photos along the way and i will post my progress, and probably be asking questions when i'm stuck!!

I hope to achieve a weight loss similar to a fat passenger, that maybe optomistic but theres only one way to find out!

Basically im keeping all my creature comforts in the front, heated leather, dual zone climate control etc. but no one has sat in the back in about a year and i dont need the boot, and now i have my pug derv for carrying people and work stuff.

I cant do track days as my car is too loud, its more just for slightly better acceleration/better fuel economy in the very short term, and its the first stage of a much bigger project for next year. Also with limo tint in the back no one can see it anyway!!!!!

Thanks for reading, all advice appreciated, i'll look forward to posting pics later on!

I think that the biggest issue you'll encounter doing this is the increase in road noise that you will encounter.... it can get very noisy once you remove all the bits that block and absorb road noise... it'll feel a lot colder too.....

it should be verys easy to remove the weight or a large passenger though! The only other thing to watch for here is that the car may end up feeling very skittish at the rear end unless you fit some softer springs and shocks as the dry weight of the vehicle and the front rear balance will get upset as the front still has a lot of weight in there.....

I was going to mention my worry about lift off oversteer!!!! Especially with me removing the rear adjusters on my coilovers lol.

Yeah i know it will be louder. Especially with it being a saloon its quieter than the hatch. Quite excited to see what it sounds like as i love the noise it makes!

If you get stuck on any bits... Go get a bigger hammer

Look forward to seeing the pics A recaro seat, with 4 point harness coming from the rear and a carpetted (is that a word) flat floor behind the seats would look cool i think

Are you going to sticker bomb the whole of the interior of the car from the front seats back???????

Is this the bigger project for the New Year??
