    Default front right suspension....

    Hi Folks,

Car pulls to the right, steering wheel vibrate sometimes when reaching motorway speeds (120 Km/h), sound from suspension when it is depressed (driving over these bumps in roads to slow traffic).

Car went back to the dealer. They checked wheel balance and tracking, did a few tweaks to them.

A few day later problems have returned while driving on the motorway, vibration in steering wheel comes on and off while driving thru curves. When vibrating the car pulls stronger to the right than otherwise.

Saw that both front wheels were switched, left-2-right, right-2-left, so it cannot be the wheels/tires that is causing the problem as it stayed at the same side of the car.

Also the suspension makes that 'knock' sound while driving over pot holes and over roadbumps.

It's going back in next wednesday (still under warranty) anyone any idea's what's causing this?

    hi

can you let me know the out come of this when it goes in to get sorted,

i have the exact same problem with mine, had it back in twice now

1st time they said it was the rad bush's making the noise and changed them and that the wheels needed balanced for it pulling to the right, still the same when i drove it home so took it back again, then it was a strut top bearing that they thought it was, picked it up friday teatime on my way to work and it is still no different

so would like to be able to go in next time and tell them what is wrong with it and what i want fixed instead of them fixing the wrong thing again

    thanks

Have you just got the knocking?? if so i wonder if they have fitted the 'spring sleeve mod' to the front coilsprings?? also, while they had the strut out did they check for freeplay in the antiroll bar links?? those are qusetions i'd want answered as those are the most likely failure points for you..

if it's pulling to the right and the tryes are corrcetly inflated, then i'd get a 4 wheel alignment done on the car.. that will cure it..

Took a mechanic for a testdrive this morning as the guy at the servicedesk was a bit stubern in believing that they didn't fix it the first time, almost up to telling me I was probably imaging things.

The mechanic confirmed the vibration and knock and I left the car with him.

When I got back at the dealer tonight I asked what they found "well, nothing particular about the suspension or so, we aligned and balanced the 2 front tires/wheels, strangly we needed three attempts at balancing the wheels before it was ok" and the knock? "I don't know, the mechanic didn't tell me, he's gone home now".

    OMG!!

Took the car and drove home (20 miles) with low expectations, but I have to say: no vibration and no pulling to the right. The knock is also gone when driving over bumps to slow traffic. Let's see how it holds up.

Ps. They took some long testdrives judging the odometer, added about 100 miles....
