    Default new exhaust came today

    just got my new back box today i want to give it a go at fixing myself , can someone give us some guidelines on how to fit it and do it safely.

    Get some gum gum paste ir similar.
    Plentybof wd40 to spray bolts and fixings before you try and undo them.

    Then simply a case of undoing the bolts removing the hanging rubbers and pulling off the back box.

    Put some paste on the inner pipe before clamping tight, as ton ensure as agas tight seal.

    spray rubbers with warm soapy water (especially if its cold) to soften them and lube em up (wd 40 can perish rubbers) undo the clamp where the backbox is, pop the exhaust hangers out of the rubbers (watch your knuckles) then use a twisting puling motion with a slight up and down thrown in for good measure to geth the old back box off, then as haynes says refitting is the reverse of removal (usually without the swearing) if your car is lowered or you have limited access use decent axle stands or reverse to the edge of a kerb so the backboxes overhang (tgood few extra inches clearance!!
