    Vehicle : Insignia

    Trim : Sri

    Engine : 140 Ecoflex S/S

    Year : 2013

Default Suspension knocks, bangs, creaks and rattles.

54 plate Signum Design V6 CDTi, 46k miles.

This car seems to have had a hard life and it's got more suspension groans, creaks and knocks than my previous 75k GSi .

So, if I were to try and get it back to something half decent, can someone give me a list of ALL the bits I'd need such as drop links, bushes and the like?

Having had the under tray off today, I'm beginning to wonder as there seems to be a lot of corrsion underneath .

But the service book is stamped from new and the old MOTs tally as well.

Might be time to do a bit of digging around with previous owners. On reflection, it seems strange that I'm the fifth owner is 7 years. Chap who does my MOTs might be able to shed some light on the mileage.

I replaced loads on mine as expected to run it into the ground (ironic its now for sale)

    - Rear upper control arms
    - Rear drop links
    - Rear ARB
    - Rear Eibach springs
    - Rear Bilstein shocks

    - Front ARB
    - Front drop links
    - Front Eibach springs
    - Front Bilstein shocks
    - Complete new strut top mounts and bearings

Stopped all the creaking though and the car handles so tight its brilliant... will be dearly missed - Thats my suggestions but only if you're keeping the car as you're looking at about a grand

I did the same but used monroe shocks and lesjofors springs instead as i didn't want to go any lower than the stock SRi spec so I can claim they are oe equivs.

you can check if the mileage is correct by going on directgov. Go to MOT history, and type in the reference number which is on the front page of your V5C document, or type in the reference number on the MOT certificate. It will tell you the mileage from the first MOT to the last, plus it will tell you if the car has failed an MOT and why. And i think it will tell you which advisories the car has had aswell. All this is FREE!

Sadly even with service and MoT history the newly purchased vehicle may be clocked and the new owner only aware of this when completing these checks later
You would only be aware of this if you checked it when viewing the documents and comparing to the database

I've seen it before where the documents look genuine, but the MoT database does not match
