    Default P0380 Fault Code

Spanner light on which I identified as P0380 - there was no description to the fault code but I searched for the list and found this:

    P0380 Glow Plug/Heater Circuit "A" Malfunction.

Am I correct in assuming this is the electronics rather than the actual glow plug itself?

    Its a Vectra 2.2DTI

If the glow plugs need replacing is it an easy job or a garage job?

    Thanks

Does the spanner light go out after 30 seconds or so . If so then it probably is just a plug starting to break down .
If any longer then it may 2 plugs on there way out or maybe the relay starting to let go .Best bet just change all the plugs at same time fairly straight forward just read up on the how 2 first for a few tips before starting

Get your car warm and then spray with wd40 and let soak in for an hour then remove them I have never had one snap off. Test the glow plugs and they must glow at the tip not in the middle.

Down below the rear face of the camshaft cover , plastic facia with 4 plug covers in a line these are the caps for the glow plugs , squeeze the top by the indent and the caps will lift off

I had this code on my cdti and it turned out to be a bent glow plug, once replaced it was fine.
