    Default Vectra>Skoda seat swap

My wife loves the Vec seats, finds them very comfortable, but doesn't like the seats in her Skoda Roomster.
As she likes the car otherwise, and the seats are not electrical, I've suggested she think about getting a couple of front Veccy seats and matching the subframe up to the Skoda rather than haver to return/sell her car and look for another.
Anyone know if this would work, or is it one of my more crack brained ideas?
Some idea of cost of second hand seats would be helpful if anyones bought any.

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

Try renault laguna 2 dynamique seats, by far the comfiest car seat i have ever sat in!

i personally find the vectra seats ( sri ) very uncomfortable on long distances

May be easier to see if seats from another skoda fits, as any electircs will be easier to match.

All sounds like too much hastle to me

I would think the skoda has air bags in the seat. If disconnected it will throw up a fault.
Also the air bags in the veccy seats will need to be connected and i'd say the connections will be different.
Also the insurance implications need to be considered.
I'd look at better skoda seats and see if they are comfy.

Cheers folks. Had realised the airbags would need connecting, hadn't thought the connectors could be different.
I did phone and ask Skoda if fitting reversing sensors is basically the same as for the Vec, answer yes, even down to the wiring colours, so maybe the airbag connectors are standard. More research I think, and a sit in a few other Skodas - Octavia may be a possibility. Pity, as I found Vec seats from 99p in decent condition on Fleabay.
Individual preferences, I know some people don't like the SRi seats, but we both find them very comfortable.

The SRS control module would need to told about the characteristics of the Vectra seat airbags (inflation times etc) - otherwise it could fire them too early or too late in combination with any other side airbags. Also they'd have to be the right shape to open up properly without getting snagged on the doors.

It used to be so easy just to unbolt some seats from one car and bolt them in another - at worst you'd have weld the subframes to suit, or drill a hole in the floor for different spaced runners... But airbags and safety system put a stop to all that
