Default Blowers not working on any setting. Climatecontrol/aircon

    Hi guys.

Was at our lass's house last night and noticed blower's weren't working. I drove home and hoped it was just a fuse.
This morning i checked fuse only to find the passenger footwell full of water. Checked fuse regardless and it wasn't blown. Initially i got told it was the matrix probably gone.

Later i checked scuttle tray and it was indeed full of water and blocked up, so i've drained it and cleaned the hole, also replaced pollen filter whilst i was at it. I've also checked the fan on top of the motor and it seems to spin freely. Have i probably blown the relays or resistors?

Are they different parts for the dual climate control version? And how much can i expect to pay? Any way of checking they are at fault first? Shall i rule out the matrix and motor?

I dont get air through on any settings atall, nor when i put aircon on.

    Cheers guys

Been out today and replaced ALL fuses associated with the heaters/aircon, including the 60 one for the interior control. I started the engine and had no success but when i turned it off the blowers turned on?!? I left it a minute and then started the engine. They were acting wierd and intermitant and then i started smelling like electrical burning smell, only to notice the car fill with smoke! Quickly turned off the engine and pulled all the fuses including the 60a one which i believe is at the start of the circuit?

Taken my glove box and removed my resistor pack to see a hole burnt right through! and the board is crisp! Is this normal? I know that it would have been due to water but jesus! the car was full of smoke, surely the design of the tray/blowers is a serious hazard.

Now i need to source a resistorpack as VX want £211!

Any ideas how to get the car dry? As i dont want to swap it only to have the same problem if there is moisture up there.

    Someone please help

I had this problem recently, but my scuttle drain wasn't blocked and no water in foot well.
I changed my pollen filter and sprayed WD40 on the motor and its been running normally since, hope you get it sorted mate worst time to lose your heating.

    Cheers mate.

Ye, i daren't drive it at mo even if it was dry/warm with the problem i had today. Currently i've left all the fuses out associated to it and resister pack off.

Anyone recommend any precautions i have to take when fitting new resistor pack? Like dehumiddifier or anything? Dont want it blowing as soon as i put it on!

Any ideas where i can get a cheap one also? At mo im checking breakers but just been to get one and after taking glove box i find someone has already had it! Sure the guy thought i'd stole it lol

Well ive managed to fix it by replacing the resistor pack and i wont let it happen again for a while! Landed extremely lucky after calling around 20 breakers and emailing another 10-15. Got told they were as rare as hens teeth for climate version by a fair few people, and when they did come in they were gone in the day. Finally found one and got it for £20! Bargain! down from £211 from VX lol
