    Default Oil

    Hi all,
just wondering if anyone has found a supplier of the long life oil for the vectra deisels. Just tried Vauxhall for a price and they quoted £33 a gallon. Bit steep I thought.

Go back in the Vx dealer, I get 20 litres od 10/40 for just over £20, 5/30 jumps it up a bit, but the trick is you buy 3 and get the 4th free.

This is on the trade card btw, if you attend meets, perhaps someone local to you who has the ability to use the card will get it for you, hth.

Thanks for the replies. It just seemed to be a bit expensive and I thought that the dealers were trying to rip me off again, cant think why they would do that.

Does anyone have an exact spec for the oil, not a vauxhall part number, as at work we deal with a large fuels supplier and I think I will ask them for a quote if I can get the correct spec.

    Regards

    Ian

5W-30 or 5W-40 fully synthetic conforming to ACEA standard A3 for petrol engine or B3 for diesel engine. Almost all fully synthetic oils conform to this standard.

Is it worth flushing out the standard Vauxhall oil and putting something 'special' in my remapped 1.9 CDTI then, especially that I'm driving it a bit hard nowadays ??

If so, what should I be looking at ?????

i'd just change the oil more often...say 10,000 max... i use 6,000 intervals..

stay with the VX stuff, then if you get any 'issues' they can't say you've used a non-reccommended oil..
