    Default Loads of trouble codes - help!

    Folks,

    As my Siggy (2.2 DTI Design/2004-04) is being a bid weird with the electrical issues (my other thread), I thought id run a code check on the ECU.

    This is what it has thrown up.

    Can someone please offer some help on this? There are loads.

    Thanks, G.

    I would clear the codes and see if they reappear, could be some of these are quite old.

    I have cleared them, took it for a drive and re-checked, nothing yet. I didnt have any EML lights on the dash, this was just a precuationary check.

    Not flat, just the below lot as per the original thrad:

    Symptoms:
    - The radio/stereo intermittently turns of and comes straight back on (almost like someone pressed the power knob and then back on - doesnt request code after it restarts);

    - The centre displays flickers like mad, you can even see the pulse when the indicator is on;

    - Yesterday, for no reason at all after 5 hours of standing it struggled to start, almost as though the battery was dying. Once restarted it was perfect and was fine this morning and all day today;

    - Earlier this morning, as I put the ignition on the "Check Safeguard" message appeared in the central display and it sort of chugged before it started but then it was OK and the message dissappeared too.

    Bad earth somewhere? Is there a cable strap from the chassis to the engine? Might be worth checking the condition if there is

    I deffo think its a bad earth as my stereo just keep flicking on and off. Now I have noticed that when the car is off but the ignition is on, the heater blowers also start to flick on and off.

    I have taken the stereo out, the centre display out, the speedo cluster out and have checked all connection, checked the earth points behind glovebox and all of the above are OK.

    |Im baffled.ill check for an engine earth too now.

    The codes with 'B' prefixes are usually linked to the Body Control Module (BCM). This itself could be issue if other basic checks of wiring, plugs/fuses come back fine. Four of those fault codes relate to the security system. How weird is it acting? Is it suffering bouncing central locking etc? (Central locking which can unlock itself), IS the alarm occasionally oging off?

    Ultimately the BCM may be playing up.
