V6 CDTI temperature

How long does it take for your V6 CDTI to reach normal running temperature or more importantly, to get the heater blowing hot air.

I set off from my house most mornings and it takes up to 10 minutes before the heater is blowing warm. Maybe 15 minutes before the needle starts moving up the dial. Anyone else's take so long? I understand it's a big lump to warm up but then again so am I

Not that long mine temp gauge is usually at 86 degrees within about 5 mins

Mine used to be like this. It wouldnt be warm by the time I got to work 6 miles away. But once warm stayed warm for ages if parked up

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck open that is the usual reason for the slow warm up, potentially costs you fuel as well as the engine takes longer to get to temperature.

Down to 7°C the needle takes 10 minutes to start moving, if it's colder than 7°C the needle starts moving in 5 minutes because of the auxiliary heater
