    Default Usual call from stealer

Had car booked into VX today for service, usual call advising this and that, then ended with '2 oil seals have gone at the back of the engine and its not that easy with your engine sir, £500 and it does really need sorting out...............sir.................sir.'
Takes me back to a year ago when it was a front spring.

I had the same this time last year buddy. Call from stealers to say the service has been done but they had a few concerns and would be best to go in to explain etc.
Said I needed a new downpipe (extremely deteriorated), 2 front tyres and a broken spring. They said we have it all in stock and it would be £780 + Vat.

I asked for my keys and left lol. Booked into local garage for downpipe at £90 fitted, springs for £110 fitted and my tyres well they still had 3.2mm left so no need yet.

Turned out only needed the springs as my downpipe was in good conition with surface rust so didnt replace and nearly 12 months on still in good condition. Gotta watch these dealers lol

The dealer wanted £65+vat to remove a stubborn locking wheel nut. They had already relieved me of £32 for a replacement wheel nut key. I asked if they could get a suitable breaker bar on the new key to remove the said wheel. They said book it in and it'll cost you the above (which is an hours labour) even if it only takes us two minutes to do. I also wanted a puncture repairing, I daren't ask what that would cost.
Anyways I told them to forget it. Went to my local garage and he removed all the locking wheel nuts and repaired the puncture there and then all for £10.
