I think I seen something regarding this on Tech 2 but I'm not sure tbh.

You can *definitely* do it on Tech 2 - I looked it up on TIS 2000. It's listed as one of the bulletins with a reference to a procedure to how to carry it out. IIRC the range of adjustment possible is +/-12.5% (but it might have been 12.7%)

I was just pleased to see that Vauxhall accept there's an issue with the "fuel use" signal getting to the BC, and accept that people may need their BC adjusting.

There is a fix for this, may be of help:

    Field Remedy: 1669

Subject: Vectra C / Signum Instrument, GID, CID - Volume of refilled fuel does not fit to calculated fuel consumption values Models: Engines: Option: Vectra-C ,Signum
All,All Bord Computer Complaint: Volume of refilled fuel does not fit to calculated fuel consumption values of bord computer and fuel gauge indication. Additionally both indications decrease too fast after 130 km driving distance. Cause: Codefiles for fuel sensor characteristic were tuned to a too large amount of remaining fuel. Production: New codefiles have been introduced as of VIN W0L0ZCF3541017447. Remedy:

In case of customer complaint reprogramm instrument and bord computer with the new codefiles from TIS 2000 CD#47. FunctionalGroup: N - Electrical Equipment Complaint Group: 23 - Wrong Indication Trouble Code: None

Sorry Gazza - didn't meant it to come across quite the way it did.

Ghostrider - That's not the fix I mean - it's Field Remedy 2063 I'm talking about - inaccurate fuel consumption signal from engine ecu to can-bus line.

The fix is called "Tech 2 Fuel Consumption Correction"

Don't worry it was all banter - smiley means it's not to be taken seriously.

The setting is also located near the adjustment for tyre radius correction or something - speedo recalibrator effectively.

Vaux-Com should let you do the same thing.

    I suspect it probably does

Because OpCom definitely lets you do it - I treated myself and have now added a fuel consumption correction factor.

My BC now tells a lot nearer to the truth about fuel consumption and economy It's probably still a couple of % out, but it was nearly 15% out before.

    Nice job
How did you do it with OpCom?

Now I've had the car for a while and got the MPG figures somewhere near accurate - I'm now noticing that the "Range" drops too quickly - my record so far is about 40 miles past "0 Range" and still running!

I'm guessing that codefile is loaded using Vaux-com?

You cannot "recallibrate" the BC function, but you can tweak it's figures by a small percentage by changing some settings in the ECM "Special Functions" section.

This should be doable with Tech2 or VauxCom.
