Unless modified stick with the VX stuff.

I use the Dexose 2 oil currently and have read good things about it, but I am no expert. It's fully sync 5w30 and back wards compatible with older cars. Also dead cheap via trade club.

Standard filters will also be fine for oil etc.

Plugs I'm unsure on that engine but I currently have the NGK ones from VX in my car and they have been fine. I will be switching to the Saab 93 bio plugs shortly though due to modifications and recs from people on here.

Stick with the VX plugs for the 2.2 mate, there the best out there, also get shot of the 5w30 and stick 10w40 in, especially if the 2.2 has done over 60-70k. Autovaux just off of Denby Dale road is your best place for oil, £12 for 5L gen GM oil They may also stock the plugs.

Another little tip, only use Gen Gm oil filters, cheaper ones have been found to disintegrate and block the oil jet to the chain That goes for the NET as well.

Have the plugs ever been changed?

Only need doing every 8 years or every 80,000 miles (whichever comes sooner)

My 2.2 has 69,000 miles on it and doesn't use a drop of oil between 10,000 mile services. Has run on 5w/30 fully synth from day one.

Unfortunately trying to get an in date trade card from the club is proving hard.
