removing the ashtray and cubbyhole under stereo and any other bits that i need to, so i can access the diagnostic port to add the extra 2 wires for the tid to gid conversion. can't see an obvious way of removing them and i dont just want to pull them and break something lol
    cheers in advance

Taffy you need to start at the back with the arm rest centre console, then work your way forward. 4 trox bolts hold the arm rest on, remove the rear ashtray/aux panel to get to them, then 2 screws hold the console down at the back. Remove the coin or cup holder to get to the other screws. Centre console is held on with 2 nuts, 1 either side behind blanking plugs in each front foot well. I honestly cant remember if you need to remove the stereo or not. Its pretty straight forward, centre console around the was a bit trickier tbh. I think it only took me about an hour or so to dismantle, do the wires and replace everything.

Errrm, to add the two wires to the ODB plug you don't need to do any of that.

Same answer as I gave you on VVOC Gareth

Lift the ashtray centre and the ashtray out to reveal the plug, push the clip in either end of the plug and push down and the plug comes out underneath the metal bracket it sits in, there's enough slack cable (just) to get the extra wires in.

Pop the centre vents out and drop your cables down behind the switches to the plug, if you need a bit more access at the bottom you can pop the bottom cubby out, it's not held in with anything, just pops out.

    Simpleess.

I tried that Ian, I couldn't get enough slack or even enough room to see any of the back of the ODB plug
