    Default cd500

i have the cd500 head unit fitted in my insignia, and need a bit of help with getting the phone to work.i have checked up on the net,but cannot find any info to help me. first of,i have a telephone button on the steering wheel and when i press this a voice is asking me to pair a phone (bluetooth actuated on my phone and cd500) nothing happens and no detection of any devices either way.the phone worked great on my cd70 in the vectra,so that cancelled out the phone.so the question is, do i have all the phone bits in the insignia or is there something else i need to make it work.thanks

The config button will become your friend Graham. All kinds of stuff is set up from there.

I don't have the manual to hand but it's something like config button>phone>activate.

That will switch the Bluetooth on.

Then drop down to the pairing screen and search from there. The UHP should find the phone and prompt you to connect. You may be prompted for a code. I cant remember what the default code because I changed mine.

No worries. The cd500 will play mp3s on a dvd too. That isn't in the manual. 70 plus albums on one disc.

Graham. you don't have to press the brake pedal to release the electronic park brake. Put in gear, rev to just over 1000 revs and raise clutch, the parking brake should automatically come off. Does in my 2011 Insignia Elite anyway.

I have to say I absolutely love it, the toys I love most are:

*AFL - fantastic on dark country lanes especially!
    *Bluetooth - works brilliantly
    * Heated seats - especially this time of year
*Dipping passenger mirror when reversing, stops you kerbing the alloys!

The TPMS is also very handy, as is the DAB radio! I specked mine with Flexride and that is fantastic in SPORT when you fancy a bit of spirited driving.

The only negative thing I have to say about the Insignia is that is absolutely no match for my Vectra 1.9 SRi 150 for economy with which I used to average over 700 miles a tank. Although I don't do anywhere near as much mileage now I get about 650 miles to tank (but the Insignia tank is 10 litres bigger!). Build quality between the 2 is no competition, Insignia all the way. Get one, you won't regret it - unless you go for an early model where there have been a number of faults reported. Insignia-Enthusiast.Org is a great site to find out info and get advice.
