Ouch!!!! £65 on trade club.
Needs must I guess.
i got 4 brake discs and 4 sets of mintex pads for £150 delivered from mtecbrakes. i opted for the sports brakes with the special black coating, just to be different. it will be alot cheaper if you just want standard ones, check it out. also 15% off at the mo with MTECBRAKES15 code. hth.
PaZ!

Is the grinding only noticeable when braking at very low speeds?
i got my qh through my bro inlaw at motorworld, been on over 6 months now with no issues
Right folks, I have an update for you. PROBLEM FOUND.
Basically, on the drivers side, the inner pad looked like it hadnt been put in correctly. It was unipart pads and they have like a spring mechanism on the reverse, see images below. Apparently the spring clip fastens over the piston in the caliper, but this looks like it hadnt been done and the pad was wearing at an angle.
AS A RESULT, the upper side of the pad had approx 4mm remaining and the lower part had worn down SOO much that the metal part of the pad was rubbing into the disc - HENCE THE ACTUAL METAL WAS ON METAL CAUSING THE SCRATCHING SOUND! Look at the pictures below.
The pad had a very heavy engrave in it which also engraved the disc.
So new discs and pads on the rear and im hoping the problem is sorted. It seems OK so far.
As for pricing, my local motor factors were quoting (cheapest) £67 for rear QH discs and Mintex pads, so £65 all in from the dealers trade club seemed the better option.
