Default So who's getting Winter Tyres this year then???

Just a random post after having my Winter Tyres fitted to the Hyundai (Signum is off the road for now due to commuting and been replaced with a lovely gold 1.3 Hyundai Accent)...

I was just wondering who else is shelling out for winter tyres this year? I went for some Nokian W+ I believe as didn't want to fork out the extra money for the Vredestein Snowtrac 3 (which I highly recommend)

First winter back in the UK after 5 years in Germany so it will be interesting to see how many of you guys (and girls) upgrade your tyres.

If anyone is looking to get a set I have bought my last 4 sets from http://www.mytyres.co.uk/Winter_Tyres.html
They ship them out from Germany for free and are very cheap. Just means waiting 3 or 4 days for delivery.

Are the Nankang Snow SV-2 any good?

In the last 4 winters ive driven in ive never changed my tyres. The 1st two were in a little polo which had skinny little wheels so was spot on, but last year i struggled a couple times in the vec, but this year ive got 18's with cheapo tyres (which slides in the wet sometimes :O ) So im not feeling anywhere near as confident!

Mytyres has loads of ratings on them... So better to see how they have been rated. I go for atleast 4 out of 5 stars and preferrably ones with the iceberg symbol as it means they are proper winter/snow tyres. I would say Vredesteins have always been best for me.. I bought some 19's in Germany cost a bleedin' fortune but I was the only one driving down the unplowed fastlane of the M25 travelling back over without a twitch to be felt

The set i bought for the Hyundai (13 inch rims) was only like £165 for 4 which is a tyre on the Siggy lol

I was exactly the same til i tried them lol... I was a sceptic on there being any point in them for my first 3 years in Germany (mainly due to the cost of getting them lol) but the difference in grip when the weather gets colder is honestly unbelievable... especially the snow!

yep cos i will be running the vectra as a winter car, not last years winner which was a skoda felicia. However I have a feeling 75% of my route to work will NEVER see a gritter so gotta make the effort.

got a set of matched dunlop Winter SP Sport M3 from the bay of E's for £150 and a set of alloys off here to fit them too.
