    Talking Evening all!

Hi all! Although I don't pick up my new Vectra until Sunday, I thought I'd log in here first & say Hi! I've been looking up how to fit my Parrot handsfree, where to get my rear windows tinted, etc etc - it's a great resource, this place!

I've ordered my car through F.G.Barnes in Maidstone, salesman there was Chris - very helpful & good to deal with. It's an Exclusiv model, so not quite base spec - but not far off it - also it's a hatch. I went for the 1.9 16v diesel - 150 horses - which is supposed to be a flyer! I had a couple of long-term hire cars back at the tail end of 2002, so ended up with two 1.8 LS models - one hatch in black, one saloon in met. red with a biscuit cloth interior. After a few years of Audi & VW ownership, I'm looking forward to some reasonably priced running costs again - I will never again darken a VAG door! This Sunday will see us rid of the Touareg, and into the Vectra - a bit of a change, but that's no bad thing.

Colour-wise, we've gone for the Black, the same as the last Vauxhall we owned (a 1999 Astra SXI).

Sunday afternoon I'll be fitting my Parrot CK3100 handsfree, which I will be ripping out of the Touareg on Friday night. Wish me luck! I've ordered the SOT 122 lead (as I wasn't sure that I would be able to get the whole thing to work without it) - that arrives tomorrow.

Any tips / advice greatly welcome, particular of the alleged presence of the phone connection cable around the glovebox somewhere - does anyone have any ideas if it will be there, and if so, whet the various pins do? If I could connect the Parrot unit to this, things would be much simpler.

Parking sensors will also be going on there soon - I've done a couple of Saabs now, so I assume the Vauxhall will be similar.

Great forum - looking forward to getting stuck in!

    Paddy

Think I got a good deal anyhow - I didn't have to produce WhatCar & tell him what the target price was. Good job I didn't - he beat it by a country mile

Hiya Paddy, nice to have you on board!!

Look forward to seeing pics of the new car, and if you could 'accidentally' sneak one on of the Saab as well, I would be more than happy!!!

Hi mate welcome to the site!

SOT 122 should be spot on although you may well have to run an ignition from your cigar lighter to the lead (lead may well come with a fly lead attached for this) otherwise if you permanently supply the kit it wont disconnect at petrol stations etc.

There is a VDA adaptor under the glove box to the left but dont think you really need this as your fitting a parrot!
