Default 3.2 Oil Cooler - removing intake flange

Following on from this thread, I've now got the plenum off and got to the intake flange.

I've unbolted the flange, but I can't get the thing to come off, I've tried gently tapping it and levering it a bit, but being cast alloy (from the look of it) I don't want to get too violent in case I break something.

Can anyone advise how to get the flange separated please?

Once you have removed alll the bolts the intake flange should just come off - there is nothing else holding it down. If you're sure you have removed all bolts tap it gently to remove it. Although the fact it's stuck suggests the green seal underneath may be damaged. If it is new intake flange's are not cheap.

    Thanks for the reply.

    I've tried again today but

I'm sure there's only the 12 bolts and they are all out. I've tried tapping gently using a length of wood between hammer and casting (as well as not so gently!)

I even tried a bit of leverage between the edge of the casting against the coolant bridge, but don't want to push too hard in case I trash the bridge.

I'm now going to keep spraying WD40 into the edges of the flange for a few days and see if this will losen it up, but it's looking terminal at the moment, so may be curtains for the Vec
