    Default Lcd buzzing

My lcd buzzes slightly until i mute it or turn it right down,i've had a search and it could be a power board problem with a loose coil perhaps, could a lcd repair person on here confirm that going by what i have just wrote,or would it really need investigating professionally

I can't hear it if the volume is up over a level that it drowns it,but if i want to watch quietly, its there all the time.
I have changed the ambient settings for the screen, the buzz does fluctuate depending on what i set it on.

I guess by the fact that you mention screen, this is a TV?

If the buzzing alters with the brightness level then it might be the controllers for the very thin flourescent tubes that illiminate's the back of the screen.
This assumes that it is not an LED backlight screen.

One of our Samsung LCD's does this (annoyingly it's the one in the bedroom where it's quietest). I've found if I adjust the backlight brightness down and bring the contrast and brightness up a bit, the pictures's as good and doesn't buzz. Took a lot of playing around to get it right though.

Apparently Samsung know its a fault and will deal with it if you raise it, but I couldnt be bothered as we have a work around we're happy with.

Our main TV downstairs (again a Samsung) doesn't do it.

Yes it does change, but it also buzz's when no scarts are plugged in or anything, just the wall plug for the power,it's coming through the speakers as if i mute or turn it right down to nothing, the buzzing goes.

It would be too loud for a bedroom, and thankyou for the info, mine is an hitachi, although it's only the badge, the rest is made by a big tv manufacturer in turkey or something

I am asuming that the mains cable is 2 core with no earth?
I would be looking for a loose/missing earth from the tuner to the audio amp, but this is inside the TV.
Have you done a google on the Model No in case it is a known fault and been posted elsewhere?

The tv has a kettle lead,i had the back off and the earth from the kettle lead plug goes to a small board and the live and neutral go to the power board straight from the back of the female plug, if that makes any sense ?
