Default as if the roads aren't dangerous enough already...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-15998468
"Two incidents where "bucket-sized" concrete blocks were dropped on to passing cars on the A12 in Essex are being treated as attempted murder.

A woman, 57, suffered life-threatening injuries when a block smashed the windscreen of a car passing under West Hanningfield bridge, on Thursday night.

Half an hour earlier, two women were left shaken after a block went through a windscreen at Fryerning Lane bridge."

Heard a number of cases like this before. Clearly attempted murder, even using darkness to conceal their cowardly actions as well.
utter retards, and i hope they are caught very soon.

By the time you see it, too late
It's very difficult to tell the difference between someone simply standing over a lane and someone with intent to drop an item into a lane
Equally, they are viewing traffic travelling away from them, that way they can see the aftermath, often partially out of view as you approach the overbridge

my solution is to demolish all pedestrian walkways over motorways and dual carriageways. they'll just have to walk around or get the bus under my new plan
seem to be quite useless things anyway, i walk a lot but i've never used one of these stupid bridges.
far too common these days, and as in this case after dark, even the most keen eyed would not see these killers on the bridge.

they use to do this in belfast on the Westlink, think a few were caught & given the propper treatment from the paramilitaries

kneee-capped with a 9mm,a few months in the royal victoria hospital, then learn how to walk again, same goes for joyriders, sometimes you hear of them getting their elbows & ankles done as well

This is terrible. I dont know why they don't make these pedestrian flyovers a metal tube, or at least caged in. Catch them then id let the family of the victim do the same to them that they have done to her, the terror of knowing what must be coming would be nearly as bad as the outcome!!

Similar thing happened on the Rock Ferry/New Ferry bypass a couple of years ago, some scroat chucked a car battery into a van windscreen and killed the driver.

They do similar things off railway bridges too. And occasionally they touch the overhead high voltage wires going under the bridge and get fried.

These idiots are also the reason why the back end of fire engines and buses now have to have no hand or foot hold's too.

I have seen overhead walkways in Salford which are covered with mesh.
    Ugly but it works.
