Default As HIDS are now not an option for me

    HI all,

Have seen these H7 LED bulbs on the fleabay.

Anybody tried them or have any experience.

I have a few led torches in the house and the light is fantastic. Would these be illegal like the HIDs if you dont have the self levelling and headlight washers?

I bet you'll have trouble passing an MOT with them fitted.

They dont perform and a waste of your money.

They are more like bright sidelights as they dont project much light forward

Those LEDs put out 1/25th the light of a standard headlight. 30 to 60 lumens instead of 1500 lumens. OK for daytime running lights but no good on an dark empty road at 70mph.

    Yeah a friend bought them.

Ho now has them superglued into the fog light housing and uses them as DRL's

Until my cars MOT time (next July), I'm not going to worry about my HIDs.
I might not even have the car by then to worry about it anyway, but if I do and the tester confirms that it will fail because of the HIDS, I'll temp reconnect H7 halogen bulbs.

There is far too much speculation and rumour mongering going on at the moment about the new MOT tests. Until it comes in and we get to hear what the actual outcome of all the new tests are, then it's really not worth worrying about just yet.
