looking at buy my kid a nintendo 3ds and wondered if anybody knows any discount codes for tesco direct, as they seem the cheapest

You could also try joining a cashback site such as Quidco (other cashback sites are also available). You can also get cashback for buying Car/House Insurance and lots more.
It is a bit complicated, but I got about £90 cashback last year without trying too hard.
