As far as I'm concerned, the white poppies represent the stupidity of some people who just don't understand the issue. Grrrrrrr....

I never thought there was a Christian message in there myself red or white, I thought it was just to symbolise of the poppy filled fields where the soldiers fought and died, so we never forget.

Anyway surely its down to the individual to interpret the message for themselves and how it relates to their life and belief.

I personally don't see any religous message in either colour/symbol, but then I don't have any religous belief, hence my own interpretation of the symbol and its meaning.

Here we go again, ppl who weren't even alive at the time having a tamper.

So I believe the poppies were white until the soldiers blood was sucked up by them turning them red, it's a symbol of thx and remembrance nothing more nothing less.

But it once again shows how religion and it's mind****ed followers is so off the mark on everything.

Stuff like this makes my blood boil. The poppy is not a religious symbol, nor is it worn for religious reasons. Just out of interest the poppy is a historical way of remembering those soldiers who gave their lives, taking it back a few hundred years the "think tank" and their authors would of been burnt at the stake or hanged for heresy for what they published...todays society is just getting too soft

They dont know what to comment on next, it's the if it ain't broken smash it routine at work, justifying a position if you like.

And like the church can say anything at all, it's well documented what a sham that is anyway, for anyone who might be interested, find someone who takes religion really seriously and listen how they must convert you, at the sametime they wont listen to your opinion either, they say the extremists from Asia and Arabia are bad, but these ppl are equally as brainwashed as well, the only difference is they aren't likely to try to kill you.

As you say matey....The poppy has nothing to do with religion. Just respecting those that have paid a huge sacrifice. I wish the religious types would keep within their own subject matter and leave real world alone.

Another issue is that the money for the red poppies goes towards caring for disabled and elderly service personnel.

Where does the money for the white poppies go???
