Bikes are fun but also dangerous. You have so much freedom, but you are vulnerable and you realise how stupid some car/van/bus drivers are!

I'd recommend one. I've been biking for 20 years and have only just started modding my car.

If you can affoard them both, go for it. Please be careful though (sorry, starting to sound like my dad now).

My good lady had a Gixxer6 until August this year,.. damn fast and damn fun,.. but as I don;t ride she sold it,.. no groups to ride with etc,. solo riding is apparently not as much fun as riding with groups.

just in a dilema ive been on a bike and messed around with them as a kid but dont have any experience with them i love the look of the gixxer and the sound when you blip the throttle im not 100% i know they are dangerous because most car/bus and any other drivers dont really see em coming i think i need to give this some serious thought

If you do go for it, just remember 'ride defensively, and always expect the unexpected'. I've been commuting a 90 mile round trip into central London, in all weathers, for 10 years and love it. It's all about awareness and concentration. You become a much better car driver as well.

By the way, I have a GSXR 600. Great bike. And if I do feel like having a good blast, I always book myself on a trackday, much safer than hooning around on the streets!

Got my bike license 2 years ago and i wish i did it sooner. Never regretted it!

You see that biker in the rain, goin home from work? under the visor he's smiling like an idiot.

I remember taking the bike in the snow and still loving it. Crap for shopping though!

there's no car that can give me the same silly grin factor I get from giving my aprilia rsv mille a fist full. get your license, you wont regret it, even if it means a lower cc for a couple of years to get some NCD under your belt

You'd be surprised how quickly it goes down especially after just one year. I'm now only paying £100 fully comp!
