    Default DTUK Green box update

Well after nearly a couple of months with a DTUK Green box on my 55 V6 signum (z30), here's an update (for anyone that's interested!).

Start up & idle - warm: same, cold: a bit more noisy

Running - noisier when cold. MUCH better low down response from 1000rpm: smoother power delivery. Generally more power, but not massively so. Can turn power up, but I will leave as sent.

MPG: a little better (BC now lies optimistically about MPG) 42.5mpg (actual) returning from Scotland (Ayr) to Leeds area - 240-odd miles. Not much overall improvement in range with mixed driving... but am I using the power a bit more...? Maybe

DPF and smoke - my DPF's shot (sooty tailpipes) and I am getting a little smoke if I boot it. Only a little. As the BC now thinks the car is using less fuel than it is, Regens are now occurring less frequently. Bonus!

Worth every penny I paid second hand... best improvement was to the power delivery from low down and general improvement in the smoothness of the engine (when warm).

    Result!

    Celes,
The DTUK box, while quite un-sophisticated, works quite well. When I had the box on my car it totally transformed it.
I used to use the extra power quite a lot, when using it on long runs, keeping the speed at a constant, it did make quite a difference on the fuel economy, for the better I would add to.
The low-mid range power increase was fantastic and absolutely brilliant for overtaking on A roads (Chesterfield to Norwich)

I'll be trying the Steinbauer one first and might then try a DTUK one if I find one cheap on the bay

I forgot to take my DTUK Green Box off for my last MOT and nothing was said!!

I fitted my DTUK box 14 months (35000 miles) ago just after having a new inlet manifold and EGR blanking plates fitted and I've had no problems with EGR/manifold... in fact no problems with the car at all.... just had my cam belt done (71000 miles) and the mechanic commented on how well the car drove and how torquey yet smooth & quiet it was (1.9 CDTi 150)...

I'm looking for more economy, not really after more power tbh
The seller has been a right pain in the arse cos it went so cheap I think. He still hasn't accepted the paypal payment saying he was registered only as guest and blahblahblah Hopefully getting it sorted this or next week

Ditto what Lee says about the low to mid-range response. I used to find it a bit 'all or nothing' and not a very smooth increase in power as it pulled from 1100 upwards then getting a surge in power at 2000rpm. With the box on, the power delivery is much creamier and it's worth recommending this to anyone not happy with the low down response and pickup

Looks like there's no Green Box for the Y30DT on the DTUK website, only the CRD2 box http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/...le.php?id=1227 .

But for the Z30DT, there's still a choice of a Red or Green Box.

So is the CRD2 akin to the Red or Green Box cos I might be giving Santa a late request?
