Default how much is my car worth

following on from my thread about trading in my vec for the audi im wondering how much i should expect to get for the vec. the dealer said around 6.5k, but ive only had it a couple months and bought it for 8.5k. surely it hasnt depreciated that much already?

its a 2.2i direct sri on a 04 plate with 18k miles on the clock in excellent condition, had 2 owners including me.

any help would be greatly appreciated

I would think that around £7000 is a ballpark figure. Tell him what you want for the car, give him your number and walk away. He'll sell a low mileage Vectra quicker than a high mileage Audi I would have thought.

sounds about right... the dealer we had C's vectra off wanted to knock us down by £3.5k over 6 months...

as MLC said, go in name your price and see what they say. I know you like the audi, but there's no point going silly with the car's values just to get it..

If you are getting the Audi from the dealer who quoted you 6.5k px, march in tomorrow and say, you've had a sleep on it, I'll take 7.5k in px or i cant do the deal, and dont let him sell you finance, go to the bank and get a personal loan.

Yeah, I been noticing that pogo, I hope they are aware that Vx cars get more bad pub for breakdowns due to volume of them, in ratio I bet a Vx car is way ahead of the others for reliability.

Anyway, congrats mate at your new car, cant slate an Audi, keen admirer myself, but the parts will be horrendous compared with what you have now, good luck anyway, and dont be a stranger.

i personally cant see by my beloved vauxhall brand, every time ive bought something different eg rover , renault ,fraud , skoda etc ive had problems so ill stay loyal to the brand for as they say once bitten forever smitten, mean no offence to people getting rid its just my poersonaL preference thats all.

Me too, used Fords till 85ish, got a J Cavalier model, swapped that for a 405, fell to bits, never bought anything other than a Vx for work, had a capri 2.8 for about a yr during a sabbatical, just to get them out of my system.
