Difference between SXI and SRI

Was just thinking about an old discussion I was having with my mate, He's got an 04 plate 2.2 Direct SRI, I've got a 52 plate 2.2 Non-Direct SXI

Engine aside, what is the difference between SXI and SRI spec.

I thought it was just the suspension which was different, though he was under the impression it head a different gearbox as well?

I'm guessing airbag varieties (ie curtain etc) were optionals, as mine has airbags in the a and b pillars, but his doesn't. (Also, fairly insignificant, but mine has the sunglasses holder, his just has the blanking slot! again I'm presuming an option)

Well the SXi is know as a poor mans SRi . Different interior Sri has computer and sports suspension the ESP, crome rear tail pipe, engines and gearbox are the same. if same engine is fitted.

Unless u get a 05 plate sxi, comes standard with sri sports axel and suspension, same sri bumpers front and back with chrome tail pipe, identical interior, the only difference visually is 16" alloys not the 17's and mechanically there is no difference on the later 05 plate sxi's what so ever, same gear box same shocks and springs, everything. Although the early sxi models had none of this i belive and had normal bumpers and everything.

i've got a 03 SXI and the only SRI similarities are the interiors. exterior is totally different

Thats what im saying ben, unless ur sxi is a 54-05 plate, it will look more like a club model the 05 plate sxi's are identical to sri apart from alloys

The SXi has Granite inserts on facia doors
The SRi has Matt chrome-effect

The SXi does not have a body-colour rear lip spoiler
The SRi does

The SXi has 16" alloys on 215/55R16 tyres
The SRi has 17" alloys on 215/50R17 tyres

On the estate
The SRi has Black roof rails
The SXi has optional Dark tinted Solar protect glass, excluding windscreen and front windows
The SRi has Dark tinted Solar protect glass

Later SXI's the only difference between them and SRI's was the trip computer and wheels. And the fact that only the SRI was the only model in the entire Vectra range that got the 2.0T engine.

M8internet, all 54-05 sxi's come with full sri body kit, bumpers, lips, spoilers, colour coded the works as gazza said, if yours is 05 plate and sxi and dont have a boot lip spoiler indicates u must have had a replacement boot before you bought it! Have you got the sri bumpers? With grooves in side at front?

I am going by the 2005MY Edition 1 and 2 brochures
I have a SRi, there is no way I would consider a SXi

Note in Edition 2 the inserts changed, both becoming Matt chrome-effect
The body colour rear lip spoier is still not showing for SXi

Also missed the Driver Info Centre
Optional on the SXi, standard on the SRi

As I said sxi is poor man's SRi. Always was on Vectra B as well.
