Default loosing speed in high gears

Hi ive got a vectra c 1.9cdti on a 06 plate and recently had a new egr valve fitted. Eml light gone and no black smoke anymore howeve i still feel as though the car isnt pulling properly more so in 5th and 6th gears it struggles to keep a constant speed even if i use the cruise control so i have to keep changing down. No split pipes that i can see and no whoosing noises coming from the turbo any ideas????

If it's the 16v version the swirl flaps might be inoperative.

Likely that the MAF sensor has had it. I heard a lot of complaints about this issue on the Alfa forums, seems to be a common issue.

Since you've done the EGR, try unplugging the MAF, then take it for a drive. If the power returns, the MAF's ******ed.

    Worth a try

A quick check of all vacuum lines and solenoids would be my next bet. The Alfa collective also had problems with sticking vanes in the turbo due to soot but that usually manifested an overboost fault code in some cases. I only mention this as the CDTI engines are the same as Fiat/Alfa JTD derivatives
