Default Warm air from engine when its cold

    Good morning folks.

Just a quick question, i remember seeing on here that the vectra has a cool thing that it gives out warm air as soon as its started if its cold outside. I've noticed my mates vxr does it but my sri doesn't.

Would this be a sign of a faulty thermostat? I have noticed that temp gauge takes a while to rise if its cold and you have the heaters on full, and also it goes down when sitting in traffic with the heaters on.

    Cheers for any help.

Does you m8 have climate control on his VXR? Think the vecs/sigs with climate control have this function, but I'm not sure about the rest.

    Mine has it
It is known as the Window demisting and defrosting
It does take a while to warm up though (between 30 and 90 seconds)

It is the switch directly above rear window and mirrors heater switch
The fans run at full speed, directs the hot air upwards towards front screen
You then MUST turn the temperature to HOT

With the Air Con ON, this operates as demisting
With the Air Con OFF, this operates as defrosting (although I have not noticed any difference as I run with the Air Con ON all the time, but it does switch off once the outside temperature is too cold)

You then MUST turn on the rear window heater (bizarre)

    Interesting cheers.
Might use that button now. Tried it a few times but annoys me how loud the heaters are lol

Just as an addition, I do not have Climate Control
I have also noted in the handbook that not all models have it, but from what I can work out it is standard on all SRI
However, no mention of it in the sales brochure
