Wonder how your 1.9 cdti 150BHP would react with pure oxygen straight from your air intake?
Thoughts people?...

im sure theres a reason why people use nitrous oxide rather than just oxygen.
Pure Oxygen would probably cause your engine to melt, nitrous oxide actually cools the cylinder temp slightly retarding detonation.
Or something like that
The MAF wouldn't recognise that it was oxygen and not air, so the fuelling wouldn't be altered to suit.
It would cause your engine to overheat. As mentioned previously, Nitrous Oxide provides cooling as well as oxygen into the intake which is why it's more effective in engine tuning
if it was a none dpf car it would have a o2 sensor so would fuel the engine as needed ....so no difference
non-dpf dont have oxy sensors, they are fuelled by the ecu.
Only petrol cars are fuelled accordingly when using an oxy sensor
diesels don't have lamda sensors, only a temperature sensor and in cars with DPF- two temperature sensors.
Deisels would actually run cooler on a lean air to fuel ratio imo. Putting in pure oxygen instead of air is effectiive like running a lean air fuel mixture, which unlike petrols, makes diesels run cooler.
None the less I wouldn't be doing it as as mentioned it the MAF wouldn't understand and would just read it as air with 21% of that air being oxygen and deisels run on excess air anyway.
So that's that sorted lol..
