Copart Auctions

Has anyone ever bought at copart auctions? Do you need to be a trader to buy or can anyone buy? Do you need to prove to them you have a safe way to take vehicle away before they release it to you? How much do vauxhalls normally go for 'roughly'. Only reason i ask is i have a small yard to use at work and dry workshop, fairly good knowledge of cars mainly vaux, and thought of doing a cat c/d repair to make some cash and mostly to see if i can get it road worthy again. Any input appreciated.

I can 100% tell you. You don't need to be a trader as I have an account with them.

All you need is 3 forms of id. An 2 utility bills or similar.
Go to local co part facility an pay membership.

As for taking vehicle. They can deliver for you. For a small fee. Which I use as it is a hell of lot easier.
Only downside is you have to go and pay in cash until your account total has reached over 5k.

The prices vary mate. But as an example I picked up. An x reg zafira 1.6 comfort with surposely mechanical damage for £800

But my mate recently picked up a cat D Megane on 06 plate for 800
So like any auction it's look of draw on the day.

I guess all facility's run similar to my local one in which you need to make a note of each vehicle you wish to look at (max 12) an then they only have certain days which viewing is available.

All I'll say is. Don't take anything for granted. And make sure you look at everything on the vehicle. Including getting on your belt buckle an looking underneath
Perhaps take a friend. As they may spot something you miss

Me and my mate have had about 12 cars now and gave up. The cars get damaged In between viewing-bidding-collecting. It's because they use fork lifts topic away in racking (often causes damage underneath or to roof) also there is way to many polish there bidding up cars.
Main advice is collect car your self and check for damaged caused by them as once it leaves it's up to you, and the delivery companies don't really care.
