Default Z22SE Valve Stem Oil Seals

Is it possible to replace valve stem oil seals without removing the head? I have a spring compressor for this purpose but there does not appear to be a lot of room on the Z22SE.

    Has it been done?

Does it require a home made tool?

Definitely not ,the valves need to come out to fit the new seals.

Their is a draper tool that uses air an presses valves in head to allow to change the seals with out stripping but probably cheaper to get head stripped

Yes if you can find an adaptor to fit in plug hole and pressure cyd you can remove sping and change seals. You could make one get an old plug take it a part and then weld an airline adaptor to it . Job done.

Thanks for the comments. All I need to do is find a tool or lever of some sort to compress the springs as my tool will not fit.

I'll prob use soft 6mm rope down plug hole then compressed against the head/valves!

Going to tackle it now........ Watch this space!!

    Cheers

    FYI

The Valve Stem seals can be replaced without taking the head off!

I have a Bergen Two legged valve spring compressor which I removed a leg from allowing me to hook the single remaining leg around the "casting" on the head at each valve location.

I then inserted app 1 mtr of soft 8mm rope into the cylinder (BDC) via the plug hole then turned the crankshaft to a (TDC) position compressing the rope against the valves - compress the spring, remove the collets and seal as normal..........

    Happy Days

    Cheers
