Yeah its to match the new theme on xbox.com, I have a console with that on from the preview program

Unlike $ony's PS3 that needs an update almost everytime you turn it on, The X360 only has a new dashboard/update twice a year (spring and Fall updates) to add new features, Sky player, Facebook, twitter etc. With this update we'll get cloud game saves, which works quite well

As for that sun frontpage, thats not news!! thats a scam thats been doing the rounds for years, nothing to do with Xbox, its people being tricked out of giving up their account info with the promise of free points to buy games, And they always say that nothing is for free (even PSN)
Like any scam, You can find people daft enough to click on links and enter personal info just about anywhere

I have the new dashboard, I don't mind taking some pictures/Videos of it if anyone hasn't yet seen it.

Its ok I guess but as yet I don't have access to Youtube,4Ondemnd,5Ondemand etc. An there is no poi nt me setting a Beacon as not many on my friendlist have the new dash.

I've had it since the private beta (they come before the closed beta which came before the current public limited beta) So I got it way back in May I think it was. Its been tweaked a hell of a lot since then but still needs more tweaking.
