Number plate lights coming on when unlocking have always been standard on Vectra-Cs.

As for the headlights and rear lights, maybe he's fitted a happylightshow device.

Howdy!Just a niggling query I come home from work this morning and switched ignition and lights off and locked the car as asual!I noticed the headlights and reverse lights were still on with the usual reggy plate light??? I put key back in ignition and started her and then switched her off and everything was off? did I do anything to cause this or is there a possible fault? e.g. the ignition barrel did not pop out properly when key was released? cheers, toaffer

With the ignition off, if you open the door then flash the headlights, the dipped beam and reverse lights come on for 30 seconds even after you lock the doors. This is so you can see your way to your front door etc if it's dark.

    It's in the Owner's Handbook.

If you leave the drivers door ajar then the lights will stay on for approx 2 mins - also mentioned in the handbook.

It is indeed. Page 17 in the pre-facelift manual:

    Operating door-to-door lighting:
Key to position 0 and remove, open driverís door, pull turn signal stalk towards steering wheel.
Dipped beam and the reversing lights light up for an additional 30 seconds after the driverís door is closed.
If the driverís door is left open, the lights will go out after two minutes.
Door-to-door lighting can be deactivated by inserting the key in the ignition switch or by pulling the turn signal stalk towards the steering wheel again while the driverís door is open.
