    Default reversing camera estate

i did a search but couldnt find the answer.

i am looking for a camera to add to the pioneer 3300bt i have decided on.

my question tho is how hard is it to run the wire from the boot lid to the head unit, particularly on the estate and is it easy or not worth the hassle?

that's the sort of thing i am looking at

Very easy although they probably won't provide a long enough lead with it so you'll need an extension.

Under the bumper on the passenger side there is a grommet that the cabling for the factory parking sensors goes through, you can use that. There's another one on the drivers side that's not used on my car at all.

These both come into the boot under the first hinged part of the false floor, just lift that and pull the carpet out and you'll see the other side of them.

Run the cables into the side pocket and down behind the passenger side bolster (you can take the rear shelf support off to give yourself more access easily, it's two screws). Pop the side trim along the passenger side and run it to the kick well and up behind the glove box.

Alas the camera he listed is one of the ones that replace a number plate light.

Hence that needs to be ran through the tailgate and into the roof section. I've got one and the conversion gubbings for converting the CD70 screen to a tv etc. Just never got round to fitting it!

I've got a reversing camera, its strange how you soon get used to just giving a quick glance around and then mainly using the display

lol, dammit i thought it was going to be an easy fit.

the number plate light one seems to make most sense, saves any drilling then,

looks like i will have to order it and give it a go then.

i didnt think the cable would be long enough tho, cheers

Yes and can you then do mine, please

I think the best bet is to run the wire though the roof then down one of the A pillars (passenger side maybe best) and the under the dash to the HU.

Would there be a problem connecting this to the reverse lights? I am thinking of Canbus problems?
