Just bought a 2004 1.8 SRi,
Don't hink it will have auto headlights. Is it difficult to fit this mod? And what would I need and how much should they cost me? Cheers!

Well for start
new REC, BCM
lot of wiring work
As the 2004 is prepared for autolights.. ditnt come until very late 2004 (About december 2004 in production)
but it you going that way
then rain/lightssensor
Roofloom
(perfeable new rear view mirror with dimming, and loom for that)
New windscreen
cover for the rainsensor
Thats about it...
Also 2004 is the year that they changed from half CANBUS to full CANBUS. On early 2004 models (like mine), auto headlights weren't even an optional extra, so no wiring or programming exists in the modules for it. Late 2004 (but still pre-facelift) models also didn't have it as an option, but as they're full CANBUS it's easier to swap in a later model BCM and REC module which do support it.
Still a lot of work for a relatively little feature...
Well the one I'm getting is definitely half canbus, so I might give it a miss. It would have been a nice to have rather than a necessity. I will just have to get used to turning my lights on again! I agree with the lots of work for relatively little feature comment! Is there a definitive list anywhere of what I will have functionality for and what would be easy to add? Am I right in saying that the traction control on/off switch is a relatively easy mod if your motor is enabled for it?
For your auto lights, consider this http://www.lmfvauxhall.co.uk/Valeo-A...ng-System.html
Heh - pre-facelift switched TC's easy if you don't have a 1.8
(1.8's don't have TC or ESP, except as a very expensive optional extra)
